Eatigo does exactly what it claims: it connects empty restaurant tables with diners and passes the discount directly to you — no membership, no voucher codes, no waiting for a promo. The restaurants are real. The discounts are real. And the mechanism is simple enough that you understand exactly why it works, which means you can use it without second-guessing the catch.
How it works
Restaurants are fullest at 7pm on a Saturday. They are emptiest at 5pm on a Tuesday. Eatigo lets restaurants fill those empty slots by offering time-based discounts — the further you book from peak hours, the deeper the discount. Peak slots (7–9pm Friday and Saturday) may offer ten or fifteen percent off. Off-peak slots (5pm Monday–Thursday) can reach fifty percent.
The restaurant gets a paying customer in an otherwise empty seat. You get a genuine restaurant meal at a fraction of the menu price. The platform takes a commission from the restaurant rather than from you, so the app is free to use and there are no booking fees.
What is actually on the platform
Eatigo started in Bangkok and has expanded across Southeast Asia, with the deepest selection in Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila. In Bangkok specifically, the platform includes a genuine cross-section of the city’s dining — hotel restaurants, rooftop bars, Japanese, Italian, Thai fine dining, and casual mid-range options. It is not a directory of budget restaurants offering discounts on cheap food. Many of the highest-rated restaurants on the platform are places where you would otherwise pay full price for a serious meal.
How to book
- Download the Eatigo app (iOS and Android, free).
- Search by area or cuisine or browse the map.
- Select a restaurant and see the available time slots with their discount levels.
- Book the slot you want — no payment required at booking.
- Show up at your booked time, eat, pay the bill at the discounted rate.
No voucher code to show the server. No cash upfront. You book, you arrive, the discount is applied to your bill automatically.
The strategy that maximizes it
The biggest discounts are at the least convenient times. If you are flexible — willing to eat at 5pm or 6pm on a weekday — the fifty-percent slots are genuinely available at places you would happily pay full price for on a Saturday night. Having a large lunch rather than a dinner is often the reframe: a Thai fine-dining lunch at 12:30pm on a Wednesday at thirty percent off is a different proposition from ‘eating early.’
The platform also works well for the first meal after arriving — when you are often hungry at an unusual hour anyway and flexible about when you eat. A 4pm booking at a good hotel restaurant after a long-haul flight is often the right call on multiple levels.
What it doesn't cover
Street food is not on Eatigo and does not need to be — it is already priced at its floor. The platform works for sit-down restaurants where the normal price represents a meaningful spend. The most common restaurant types not listed are the pure locals-only neighborhood places that do not use booking platforms at all, and the very highest-end fine dining establishments with fixed menus where a discount does not fit the model.
Beyond Bangkok
Singapore has strong Eatigo coverage, particularly useful given how expensive the city is at full price. Hong Kong has grown considerably. Kuala Lumpur is worth checking. Manila has coverage in the Makati and BGC areas. The app shows which cities are active when you open it.
The full method
Eatigo is the Bangkok-specific tool. The Playbook’s Exploit 02 gives you the method for finding the right restaurant in any city, including cities where Eatigo doesn’t operate.
